Design Industry Waste as a Catalyst for Change.

Curious about the future of fast furniture? Interested in learning how to get away from the trap of buying quick and cheap furniture? Ever wondered where all that furniture ends up?

Month of Modern has proudly partnered with The Good Future Design Alliance (GFDA) to present a panel discussion, focusing on the world of furnishings. The event will highlight LOCAL manufacturers, local 2nd Hand resources, where to sell/consign, and how to keep furnishings and all-things-interiors from ending up in a landfill. Top designers in the industry will be in attendance–which will be a great networking opportunity!

Discussion will include:

  • The context of the waste of the furnishings, fixtures, and textiles as a subset of the footprint of the design and building industry
  • Low waste best practices your companies employ in both manufacturing and packaging
  • Challenges that need to be addressed
  • Ways that adjacent industries can support local furniture, lighting, and textiles businesses and your low waste goals
