My ambition as an architect is to connect building to place. I study the climate, landscape, and history of the Rocky Mountain region for design inspiration. For me, authenticity is found when a building emerges so strongly from its place that you can no longer imagine it anywhere else.
I am drawn to basic, unpretentious materials that weather naturally with time. I look to local vernacular architecture for material and form inspiration. I often expose the structural framework in my designs, giving clarity to the architectural statement.
Above all, I strive to create an architecture of authenticity.
